Goodness!  The days have flown by, truly!  Our youngest daughter is now married (Congrats to Bethany & Brandt!) and we enjoyed family in town for this wonderful event and Christmas!  

 

 

Now we are soon to ring in the new year of 2015!  We are looking forward to the release of the TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach soon and the preparation for TWIN TAILS Book 2!

WOW!  The days are flying by and there is so much to do to be ready for our daughter's wedding on DEC 19th, to teach my preschool class for kindergarten readiness, to do for my TWIN TAILSChildren's Chapter Book Series, and more!!!

ROOK Publishing has returned my TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach story and book cover illustrations and await my final author edit of the manuscript to be done of the story.  One more chapter and the epilogue to go and I will send it their way!

 

In the meantime, what a crazy rainy day in Arizona we had! My lil' class of 17 (out of 21 who are normally there) active preschoolers could not go outside for recess and the gym at the school was busy all day with a dental clinic so we did a half hour of music & movement to get our bodies a-movin' and a-groovin' with a Snowman Hokey Pokey, Goin' On A Bear Hunt, Head Shoulders Knees & Toes, Rain is Falling All Around (in regular, fast & slow motion), the Bunny Hop, Holiday CHOO-CHOO Train, and some fun stretching and exercises too.  I came home and sat down to work on my laptop...and woke up 3 hours later!  :oD

Rook Publishing is now requesting my original story illustrations and book cover illustrations to begin prepping for the formatting of the TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach!  

Wedding preparations for my youngest daughter are in full force as their date of December 19th draws near!

Writing the curriuculm and creating learning activities for my Preschool Spanish classes through the City of Tempe is time-consuming, but creatively fun!

Teaching 20+ preschoolers in kindergarten readiness for 6 hours a day,4 days a week is exhausting, yet full of enjoyable learning  moments together!  I've learned to love my lil' students so much in these 2 weeks we've been together!

Exciting, busy times are these!

UPDATE on What's Happening with CILLYart @ CILLYart4U...

I've been oh, so busy with wedding stuff...and creating a few needed learning materials for my upcoming Preschool Spanish classes! In the process of adapting an ABC Sounds Song with the Spanish alphabet, I've created a huge Spanish alphabet picture chart to go with it! A smaller version of this chart will go into a booklet for parents to continue practicing Spanish with their kiddos when at home! Been able to do a few more line drawings for TWIN TAILS Book 2 also...and I've got my hands full!!! This girl (aka CILLYart) is NOT Bored!

Some New Illustrations Completed...and a New Adventure on the Horizon!

Well...I ended up having to stay up late, but I did get two

more line illustrations done for the exciting new adventure to be read and

enjoyed in TWIN TAILS book 2! YAY!!! So looking forward to finishing this book

...and seeing #1: TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach published in early 2015! 

Our daughter is engaged to be married on DEC 19th...and so we are mixing in

wedding preparation adventures with all our other creative projects!  Wish us well!

Proofreading, Editing, Illustrating...and Looking for a PART-TIME Job TOO?

As I am busily working on the TWIN TAILS series, I am also looking to pick up a part-time job again working with people... especially young children. These lil' ones are my muses! :oD

Did some proofreading and editing on TWIN TAILS Book 2 of the Prologue chapter last night! Hoping to move on to Chapter 2, into doing some more thumbnail sketching of this book's story illustrations...and to go back and do more writing in the TWIN TAILS Book 3. With the job search added to this...is this too much for today's TO DO List? :o)  It is exciting to see that story unfolding in my imaginative head onto its manuscript document!

Finished the CRUISE...Now, BACK TO WORK!

SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 - Back to work at home after a fun 7-day cruise with my sister! Both of us did get some work done on the cruise however...but we also enjoyed Mayan ruins, meeting people, musical productions, the beauty of the sea, a bit of shopping, sleeping in a couple of times, and a couple of happy nappies! (Check out the snapshot of me at the base of one Mayan Palace in Belize below!)

I did a tad more of proofing on TWIN TAILS Book 2, a bit of sketching for that book's illustrations, and a bit of writing into TWIN TAILS Book 3! Now it is time to build on all that!

TWIN TAILS Book 1...Book 2...and Book 3! This magical series for children and families is coming together!

Back to working with excitement after a fun, quickie trip to Utah to see my granddaughter for her 3rd birthday! 

I finally finished writing the basic story of the second book in my children's chapter book series, TWIN TAILS, on SAT night! Now, I can hardly wait to begin book 3 of the series to see where it goes from there! So...as I venture forth into that story, somehow I still need to begin the editing and story illustration processes of book 2 too! I want to do too many things at once! I will be taking my fun work along with me as I become a traveling companion for one of my sisters on her Caribbean cruise this next week!

Book One, TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach, is already at the publishers undergoing all the many steps for its publication and launch...they predict very late 2014 or early 2015!  Stay tuned!

Book Cover Designs for TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach and update on TWIN TAILS Book 2!

I've submitted 3 book cover ideas to my publisher in preparation for the publishing, launch & marketing of my magical children's chapter book, TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach!  So excited to hear their input on these designs!

I have also just written chapter 16 of TWIN TAILS Book 2 this weekend...and what an exciting chapter it was too! Now I've only got to write chapter 17 and the epilogue...and this book will be done!  Well... sort of done. Next comes the looonng process of editing, proofing and editing some more...and illustrating the story!!! WOO HOO!!! I'm itching to start TWIN TAILS Book 3 as well!  I don't know if I can wait!

Welcome to a new week everyone!  Hope you've all been energized for this week from a restfully refreshing weekend!

Still working on book cover ideas for my TWIN TAILS children's book series first book, TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach.  I am having fun with it, but I keep coming up with new ideas as I work on them that I'd like to implement too!  Will I ever be able to finish and decide?  Wish you all could help me, but then I'd let the magical secret of the first book out before it is time...and that would spoil the fun!   Stay tuned...and hoping to have this book make its debut bigger and better with the help of ROOK Publishing than I could have done on my own!  

In the meantime, I'm still writing the story of TWIN TAILS book 2!  Hopefully its debut will be soon after book 1!  :o)

Our meeting with ROOK Publishing last night was mighty encouraging! Tho' it means putting off the publishing and marketing for my children's chapter book, TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach, to a bit further down the road...I'm looking forward to a successful adventure together! Getting this fun book out to many MORE young and emergent readers, families and others passionate about children's books to enjoy is our goal!

UPDATES on TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach, TWIN TAILS Book Two...and a bit more fun!

I sure wish I could share some fun character sketches for

TWIN TAILS Book Two...but it would 'let the cat out of the bag' too early! I got into writing more of my 2nd book of this magical series and couldn't stop until the wee hours of the morning (after doing some setting up/organizing in my husband's new classroom) ...and made it to the beginning of chapter 8! Trying to get the ideas out of my head onto a document and seeing lots of images in my mind...almost like a movie! Editing will have to come later...as I've just got to get this new children's chapter book story written first. Anxious to get back to my creative writing and sketching!

Meanwhile...negotiations for the publishing of the first book, TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach, are still in the preliminary stage. Summer activities and demands can sometimes slow up a process such as this, tho' I'm anxious to get the details worked out to see if this will be our new publisher! Tryin' to be patient. :o)

Here's a sketch...or a piece of recent art I illustrated that I can share!  I created this last Saturday as a fingerprint sign-in tree for a baby shower that my sister and my niece were hosting. It turned out pretty cute...and will look lucious with all the fingerprints stamps filling in as green leaves.  Can you tell which gender the baby is predicted to be?

 

Happy Birthday today to our darlin' 3 year old grandson! Family, immediate and extended, really give life a blessed depth! I sure love mine!

TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach negotiations with a publisher...and TWIN TAILS Book 2 is being written!

Welcome to a new week! I've been busy all day today with so much going on, but not with a chance to write or sketch yet! I will be going into my husband's new classroom everyday this week to help him organize, set-up and do his bulletin boards...but I will be sure to drag along my dino-laptop and my sketch pad for moments I can snatch to satisfy my own creative urges in creating TWIN TAILS Book Two!!!

Negotiations for the publication of TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach are in process and I am certainly hoping for a positively successful outcome for all involved!  Stay tuned!!!

TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach publishing update...and writing of TWIN TAILS (book two) has begun!

I got the opportunity to spend time with my daughter and my almost 3 year old grandson this morning...and had so much fun! Have you ever played with kinetic sand? It is cool stuff...especially playing in it with those two darlings of ours!

Home again and back to work this evening! While I wait through the negotiations process in publishing the TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach (Book One), I am now writing chapter 3 of TWIN TAILS' Book Two! Busy visualizing in my mind the many illustrations I can create as I write! Love it!!! :o)
